Rajasthan, the history laced nation of evergreen myths and wisdoms of yore, is also the site of various colorful fairs and festivals. These fairs and festivals are amazingly spectacles of energetic colours, mind blowing display of eye catching artifacts, delectable luxuries, traditional Rajasthani dress that are storming the global fashion scene, enocative folk melodies that have an old world attraction to them, beautiful folk dance performances, among a host of other vacationer attractions.

Baneshwar fair is a well liked tribal fair held in Dungarpur district in Rajasthan state of India. This fair is a main fair of the tribals. 'Baneshwar' means the ‘master of the delta’ which is derived from the Shiva Linga adored in the Mahadev temple in Dungarpur. The fair is held in the month of February at Baneshwar, a small delta designed by the river Soma and, 50 km from Dungarpur. This is a religious fair with traditional rituals. The tribal of Bhils originated from the neighbouring states of Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat and offer prayers to Lord Shiva.

Pushkar is one of the five dhams or sacred seats for the Hindus and devotees come to bathe at the sacred Pushkar Lake and show respect to Lord Brahma at Shri Brahma Mandir. Since this is one of the main cattle fairs in India, cattle merchants all over the nation find it as an ideal location to trade cattle and make some money.The Pushkar Fair starts on Kartik Shukla Ekadasi and ends at Kartik Purnima in mid of October-November. The festivities usually continue for five days.

The Gangaur Festival is the regional festival of that is celebrated statewide exceptionally  in Jaipur by the womenfolk with great passion and religious ardor. The women worship Gauri, the companion of Lord Shiva through the month Chaitra( July -August). The festival starts following the day of Holi and the first day of the Chaitra month and last longs for eighteen days.

As per the Hindu mythology Teej is an festival for the married ladies and girls dedicated to Lord Shiva and Parvati, which is notable on the third day after the new moon in the Hindu month of Shravan. Teej is celebrated by married women worshipped for their happy married life and also unmarried girls pray for their best partner. It is celebrated all over the country but Teej in Rajasthan is celebrated with great pleasure and enthusiasm. The Teej Fair is planned by the locals of Rajasthan collaborating with the Department of Tourism. It is famously known as the 'Saawan mela'.

The Kite Festival, celebrated on the event of Makar Sankranti, is another high spot of this imperial city. Hundreds and thousands of tourists assemble to its Olympian territory every year, on the fourteenth day of the month of January. The festival is noticeable by the coming together of ardent contestants. Exclamations of joy and disappointment echo all across the polo grounds as kites jostle for space in the clear firmament expanse. Contestants make a beeline for the kite spirited segment of the celebrations.

Rajasthan and is the coldest area of the state. This place houses the utmost peak- Guru Shikhar Peak of the Aravali Ranges, the one of the old fold mountains of the world. It was the summer get together of the British people and hence the place breathes a overseas air of its past.The cold place comes alive with the summer festival during the month of Aashadh( in Hindu Calendar ) that falls in June. Summer season imparts a festive appearance to the place.
