Rajasthani dialects

Major Categories of Rajasthani Languages are:
MEWAR: Around 5 millions speakers in Bhilwara, Udaipur, Rajsamand and Chittorgarh districts of Rajasthan state of India.

BAGRI: Around 5 millions speakers in Sriganganagar and Hanuman districts of Rajasthan, Sirsa and Hisar. It is spoken in Fazilka and in some villages of Mukatsar District of Punjab of India as minority language.

SHEKHAWATI: Around 3 millions speakers in Jhunjhunu, Churu and Sikar Districts of Rajasthan.

Marwari: Around 13 millions speakers in western Rajasthan comprising Pali, Sirohi, Jodhpur, Ajmer, Jiasalmer, Churu, Jalore, Bikaner, Nagaur and Barmer region of Rajasthan. It is also spoken in eastern portion of upper Sindh province of Pakistan.

AHIRWATI: spoken in Mahendragarh and Rewari districts of Haryana.

DHUNDHARI: Around 9 millions persons in Dausa, Jaipur, Tonk, Ajmer, Karauli and Sawai Madhopur Districts of Rajasthan.

HADOTI: Around 4 millions speakers in Bundi, Kota, Baran and Jhalawar districts of Rajasthan. It has a nominative marker which is absent in other dialects of Rajasthani.

WAGDI: Around 3-5 millions speakers in Dungarpur, Kushalgarh, Banswara and Pratapgarh districts of Rajasthan state of India.

MEWATI: Around 5 millions speakers in Mewat region of Haryana ( Mewat and Gurgaon districts) and touching Alwar district of Rajsthan.


Other Major dialects/ languages are Gowari, Loarki/ Gade Lohar, Gujari, Goaria Gurgula, Lambadi, Malvi, Nimadi and Dhatki.
