Situate twenty six kms from Margao at Sanguem and in-built the last century, the Jama musjid was utterly restored in 1959. The new structure is outstanding for its harmonious proportions and stylish simplicity with its four minarets..

The Shahouri musjid in Ponda taluka, the most important and most known of the mosques in state, was in-built 1560 by patriarch Adilshah of Bijapur. Adjacent to the masjid may be a well created masonry tank with little chambers with ‘meharab’ styles. the 2 major festivals of Id-Ul-Fitr and Id-Ul-Zuha ar celebrated at this masjid with nice elegance.
